Discover the Hidden Pearl of the Philippines
Tablas Island is the largest island in Romblon Province — and one of the Philippines' best-kept secrets. Crystal-clear waters, untouched beaches, stunning waterfalls, and an authentic local life that has not yet been overrun by mass tourism. The only question is: how do you actually get here?
Don't worry — we've done it many times ourselves and know every route. In this guide, we'll show you all the ways to reach Tablas Island, step by step.

✈️ Option 1: By Plane — The Fastest Way

The easiest and most comfortable way to reach Tablas Island is by flying directly to Tugdan Airport (TBH) in Odiongan, Tablas.

✈️ Option 1. 2.: By Plane and Pumpboat:
Manila/Clark/Cebu – Caticlan (Boracay) – Tablas Island
You can fly from Clark International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, or Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Caticlan Airport. This airport is especially well known as the main gateway to Boracay, one of the Philippines’ most famous island destinations.
From Caticlan Airport, it’s just a quick 5-minute tricycle ride to the pump boat pier. From there, pump boats depart three times a day to Santa Fe (2 hours) on Tablas Island.
Many travelers choose this route not only for its convenience but also because it allows for a short side trip to Boracay, perfect if you want to combine a vibrant island experience with the Boracay and untouched beauty of Tablas.

Option 2: By Ferry from Manila — The Scenic Route
If you like the ocean and a beautiful view and prefer a slower pace to enjoy the journey, the ferry from Manila is a great option. It's significantly cheaper than flying and gives you a real sense of island life.
Port of Batangas, Batangas City
The most common route goes via Batangas Port, which is about 2–3 hours south of Manila by bus or car.
From Batangas, ferries operate to:
Odiongan, Tablas — the main port, most ferry connections
Ferry operators include Montenegro Lines, Starlite Ferries, and Travel 2go. Travel time from Batangas to Odiongan is approximately 8–10 hours, usually overnight.
Tip: You can book the Travel2go ticket online. The ticket for the other Ferries you can buy directly in Batangas Port.

How to Get from Manila to Batangas Port

By Car: Take the STAR Tollway from SLEX toward Batangas City. Follow signs to the port.
Tip: Leave Manila early in the morning to avoid heavy traffic, especially on Fridays and before public holidays.
Option 3: Via Romblon Island — For Island Hoppers
If you want to explore more of the Romblon Province, you can also travel via Romblon Town on Romblon Island and then take a connecting boat to Tablas Island. This route is popular among travelers who want to combine their trip with a visit to Romblon's famous marble workshops and beaches. It's a bit more complex but rewarding for those with extra time.
